To produce high-quality furniture, it is essential to select raw materials wisely. Before felling oak trees, they must reach a minimum age to ensure their quality is sufficient for furniture production.
Only then can the logs be transported to the sawmill, where they are dried and processed. The longer the wood is seasoned after felling, the better its properties will be, and consequently, the higher its cost – this ultimately determines the price of the finished products.
The creation of every furniture piece begins with its design. While standard models have pre-existing designs, crafting a unique, custom-made item requires meticulous planning. This includes considering its appearance, joinery, dimensions, wood color selection, and many other details.
This process is not simple; becoming proficient in furniture design requires a combination of design software expertise, extensive knowledge of materials and construction, a keen aesthetic sense, and an understanding of current trends.
Initially, we prepare the wood for processing. Planks sourced from the sawmill are cut into lamellas and carefully sorted based on their structural properties, ensuring consistency (e.g., knot-free wood is matched with knot-free wood). These lamellas are then planed to the precise thickness required for the specific design.
To create durable, large-format surfaces, the lamellas are carefully glued together. The resulting wood piece is then sanded and cut to the exact dimensions. The subsequent steps involve crafting the legs and integrating all components with the extension mechanism.
The final step involves protecting the table with a special oil or lacquer to make it resistant to scratches. During this stage, the table undergoes numerous quality tests to ensure it meets the Tabell.QUALITY certification standards.
The finished table is properly secured with three layers: foam, bubble wrap, and stretch film. Our tables are transported by us or our trusted carriers. The driver is alone during delivery, so he will need your help to unload and carry the furniture. Each table transport is insured, so if the furniture is damaged during transport, we will make a new one for you. You can find out more about table delivery here.
